Ah, the weekend! Try as they might, your team just can’t hide the fact that they’ve been counting down the days. And why fight that fact? In 2022, we’re working harder than ever, and work-life balance is looking no sunnier. So why not give your team some much needed love and appreciation by helping them get into the Friday feeling, and wave the weekend in nice and early…

        1. Have a Happy Hour!

Quite literally. Friday pub lunches may sound a bit 70s but they’re still a staple in many offices around the country, and we can’t beat a beer in the sun before an early finish on a Friday…

Happy hours allow your employees some relaxation time as the week draws to end, helping them to shift slowly into the weekend mindset. Team members also get to socialise with eachother in a more casual atmosphere, which can be great for team building.

        1. Order a Takeaway

In the age of Deliveroo and JustEat, the sky’s the limit and everyone is happy. Whether it’s a Tuesday morning pizza or a Thursday evening Indian, you’ll find something for all of your valued team members to munch on at their desks. Offices can be very snacky places so why not drop the packets of raisins and stale crisps, and instead raise the bar and get some proper food in – give your staff something to really look forward to! For best results, combine a Friday lunchtime takeaway with a shortly-there-after Friday afternoon happy hour. Yes, you’ll have to write Friday off entirely, but everyone knows Fridays are dead, anyway…

Take a vote on what takeaway everyone would like and be the Boss of the Year by getting it all in. Your staff will appreciate it.

        1. Hold a Chill Team Meeting

This isn’t a ‘suit and tie, everyone bring their notebooks, and get someone taking minutes’ kind of meeting. This should be a more informal meeting with everyone to just have a task catch up and round off the week. This gives people time away from their desks and brings everyone together at the end of a long week. Another one that can be great for team building, and it helps to ensure lines of communication are open, too.

        1. Finish Early

Yes, the ultimate Friday treat… Let’s call 12pm 5pm instead, and wrap up the week with time to spare. The vast majority of workers claim to feel the most productive in the morning, anyway. Of course, this one is more subject to the industry that you’re in, but an earlier finish could be a great way to give employees something to feel positive about on a Friday. Besides, isn’t an early finish on Friday the #1 thing to brag about your job to your mates?

Headway Recruitment can help you find amazing candidates for jobs across the UK, but once you’ve got your new team members, you’ll want to keep them.
